Ladyhawke

During the holiday season, if you happen to find your butt parked in front of the TV, consider netflixing Ladyhawke with Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer and Michelle Pfeiffer from 1985.  I revisited it about a month ago on an excessively slothy day.  It was such a hoot recalling my adolescent crush on Rutger Hauer and I heard the synth-filled soundtrack as if it were, well, for the first time.  It was fun to start the movie without telling Bruce what we would be watching and having him discover the story takes place in the Middle Ages.  Ha!  If my joke doesn't make sense to you, watch it and you'll hear what I mean.

I love this movie. The scene when he rides the horse into the church is classic.

Did you ever see Rutger in Wanted: Dead or Alive where he plays a bounty hunter and Gene Simmons (KISS) plays a terrorist he's after? Classic cinema at it's finest.

Yikes, I had forgotten the exploding head scene but did see the movie a million years ago. Thanks for reminding me. I think. Ha! Rutger's such a bad ass.

Crush on Rutger? well I'm with you. As for the time frame puzzle, are you thinking Speculative Fiction combined with Goth? At first
BTW I didn't immediately realize it was Lady Hawk we were watching. The moment I saw Rutger Houwer in the Medieval garb I thought: How did she get a copy of "Floris"? That was a Dutch children series Paul Verhoeven made ages ago. Thanks for sharing!
